Help us to rediscover treasures in ... Langford

A potted history of Langford is available at www.winthorpe.org.uk/langford1 and www.winthorpe.org.uk/scene-from-early-times - tantalising tastes of how the village has evolved over the centuries since its medieval settlement disappeared.

The settlement is now camouflaged beneath undulations in a couple of fields to the east of the main Newark-Gainsborough road; but the ways in which succeeding generations battled the vagaries of the River Trent and the climate are visible in the architecture of several places around the village.

There are also footpaths along which the inquisitive visitor can attempt to retrace the past.
