Muskham Vale Heritage Group - [July 2008]

The Muskham Vale Heritage Group followed its inaugural meeting in May with their first monthly meeting on 5 June. There was an update on the progress followed by a presentation about the likely river movements which formed the North Marsh, Burridge Marsh and, probably, the demise of Town Street. The following discussion highlighted various features which could be investigated.

The steering committee has an outline constitution prepared and is applying for insurance cover so that members can carry out fieldwork, surveys, and other heritage projects. The insurance cost means that full annual membership will have to be £25 per year, with visitors paying £3 per meeting.

The group are keen to encourage members from all the villages within the "Muskham Vale" and to look at a wide range of projects. Posters are up in all the villages with leaflet drops being arranged. For more information, contact T: 01636 640200.
